Activities Include

Children can benefit from learning a second language early in life.  Introduction to another language before adolescence makes for better pronunciation and sound discrimination.  And because children make comparisons with language patterns, learning a second language at an early age is associated with better learning of the primary language.  When it comes to learning a second language, attitude and motivation are as important as aptitude.  with self-directed interactive activities that provide plenty of encouragement and allow children to choose when they want to hear the language, Disney's Winnie the Pooh learning products provide an optimum learning environment.

Owl's Magnificent Machine: Your child explores Spanish or French names for objects commonly found in his or her world.  Your child can display a new object at will, and can choose to hear both the English and foreign language version for each object display on the screen as many times as desired.  Learner-controlled play ensures that the learning happens at the child's own pace, a critical factor in acquiring a second language.

Navigation Screen: At "The Enchanted Hill" in the 100-Acre Wood, children can click or move their mouse cursor on Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Roo or Christopher Robin to enter a special place where learning is fun.  Select the stack of papers to print pictures, personalized bookmarks, educational coloring pages and other projects.

Who Likes To? In a special place in the 100-Acre Wood, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Roo are playing a game they call "Who Likes To?"  Each character reveals a hint as to what it is he likes to do.  The narrator then poses a question in the form of "Who likes to...?"  and your child must use reasoning, observation and memory skills to decide which of the four characters best fits the question. 

Popping Balloons for Pooh:  While floating on a balloon to reach a honeycomb high up in a tree, Pooh is blown off course and soon discovers he's unable to get back down on the ground.  Pooh's friends float up to help him, but they, too, find themselves stuck in mid-air.  It's up to your child to pop each of their balloons and help them all return to solid ground.

Making Opposites: As children explore Pooh's environment, they can find more than eighteen opposite pairs illustrated with colorful and sometimes humorous animations.  Nearly everything in Pooh's home is an opposite just waiting to be discovered- including Pooh himself.

Pooh's Learning Jamboree: Sing along to the music of four hummable tunes that teach.  Children can also select on-screen instruments and other fun objects.

Pooh's Print 'n' Learn:  Print fun pictures, customized ID tags, personalized bookmarks, flash cards and educational coloring pages that reinforce skills learned in the product.
